Untitled 15

about

Dmitry ::vtol:: Morozov(RU)
::vtol:: takes
his-own-synthesizer-based
music to new and unexpected
realms.
Dmitry Morozov is a total
time traveler, searching out
old, forgotten methods
and sounds and taking them
into a square-wave future.
"16" is rooted
in its primitive synthesis
but is forward-thinking
enough to take the listener
on a tripped-out mind walk.
As with all Morozov music,
::vtol:: sound
is 100% improvised.
That added warmth keeps
his noisy intonations
from getting distant
or cold.
The flip-side of the record
dials things in and shows just
how much focus and restraint
::vtol:: possess. More blitzed
flashes push things along
at a reliable position,
underscored by repetitive
tones leading into
candy-striped, totally sweet
synthesizer loops.
"15" seems, on the surface,
to be all over the map
but it's absolutely cohesive
and flows like a perfect
pink stream.
CAA#4 is an impressive,
fully-realized piece
of work that cements
::vtol:: place
on the astral plane.
